First Impressions Project Week 12

First Impressions Project Week 12

I know I said the First Impressions Project was only going to last 12 weeks. There seems to be a significant need for these services, however. So for the time being, I’m planning to keep this project going FREE through the end of the summer.

If you think you’d like to get in line for a quick review, please apply to the project here.

First Impressions Project – Week 12

This week we explored these three sites:

  1. Linen + Lime
  2. Hannah Hassler
  3. Rancho Tax and Bookkeeping

Linen & Lime

Flo Gascon is changing her site from an educational resource to a lifestyle blog.  She loves helping other families navigate their unique path of wellbeing and growth

3 points that stand out for Linen & Lime:

  1. The first step would be to get super clear on goals, who you serve, and how you will serve them.
  2. Blogging is a challenge. If you don’t have time, either seek guest contributors or replace it with a social feed.
  3. You can solve the problem of multi-focus with three “service” boxes.

Hannah Hassler

Hannah Hassler is transitioning to coaching. She helps women align with who they truly are and gain clarity in life, business, and relationships.

3 points that stand out for Hannah Hassler:

  1. Use actual text instead of an image, for SEO  purposes to allow searchable.  Side note to the font is a little hard to read in longer sentences.
  2. Needs a call to action and an easy way to contact you. The Google form is too much to ask of most people. Make it super easy. Also, if using Google forms, embed onto the site.
  3. Good pain point agitation but needs much simpler fonts, much more white space, and using up less of the horizontal real estate.

Rancho Tax and Bookkeeping

Christian and Mirna are tax professionals passionate about numbers and helping their clients understand their taxes and empowering them with the knowledge they need to make better financial decisions for the future.

3 points that stand out for Rancho Tax and Bookkeeping include:

  1. Change Headline to Navigate Your Business Finances with Confidence, and a subhead of We help you create tax and accounting solutions that work.
  2. For the testimonial section, the waterfall is a bit distracting visually it would have more impact if it was all on the same horizontal line.
  3. Add a call to action to either a separate page or to the contact page.
